Your new company Our client is a successful and growing private sector organisation seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its senior leadership team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a broad commercial leadership role with responsibility for financial strategy, planning, performance and governance. The Finance Director will act as a trusted adviser to the Board, providing clear insight and constructive challenge to support informed decision-making. This opportunity will suit a commercially focused Finance Director who can operate strategically while remaining close to the business, its people and its key performance drivers.
Your new role
- Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to support business strategy and sustainable growth.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial modelling and scenario planning.
- Develop clear and timely management information to support effective commercial decision-making.
- Increase financial accountability and commercial awareness across the organisation.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to improve profitability, efficiency and business performance.
- Support investment decisions, strategic projects and significant commercial initiatives.
- Maintain robust financial controls, governance and risk management processes.
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team.
- Act as the principal point of contact for auditors, banking partners and professional advisers.
- Contribute fully as a member of the Board and senior leadership team.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be an experienced Finance Director or senior finance leader with strong commercial judgement, Board-level credibility and the ability to turn financial information into practical business action.
You will also demonstrate:
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification.
- Previous experience as a Finance Director, CFO or senior finance leader.
- Strong commercial and strategic capability, with a track record of influencing business performance.
- Extensive experience of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management and financial modelling.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Confident leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide constructive challenge.
- Experience of operating within a fast-paced, evolving and commercially driven environment.
- A pragmatic and hands-on approach, with the flexibility to balance strategic and operational priorities.

The package includes a competitive salary of £100,000 to £120,000, performance-related bonus, car allowance and comprehensive benefits.
