Your new company
Our client is a well-established organisation known for its collaborative culture and commitment to delivering high-quality legal support across its operations. As part of their continued focus on maintaining excellence within their legal function, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Paralegal or Contracts & Commercial Lawyer to join their team in Herefordshire on a 14-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The role offers hybrid working; however, they would ideally look for you to be in the office 3 days per week.
Your new role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse and fast-paced caseload. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the legal and compliance management team, supporting legal, regulatory, and compliance functions across all current and future business lines. This role is dynamic and varied, making it perfect for someone who thrives on a challenge. The post will report to the General Counsel. You will play a key role in supporting the business across a wide range of commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements, advising internal stakeholders, and helping to manage legal risk. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues across the business, contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring legal compliance in day-to-day operations. You'll be involved in shaping contract processes, improving efficiencies, and supporting the wider legal function during a period of transition, making this a highly visible and impactful role within the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a confident legal professional with experience in contracts and commercial law and strong drafting, research, and negotiation skills. For Paralegals, a strong foundation in reviewing and drafting commercial agreements is essential. For Qualified Lawyers, you will bring a deeper level of expertise and the ability to advise on more complex matters. Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach are key to success in this role.
What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive legal team within a respected organisation. You'll enjoy a competitive salary package aligned with your experience and qualifications, along with flexible and hybrid working arrangements that promote a healthy work-life balance. The team fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture, with a strong emphasis on professional development and growth. The role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial legal work, providing both variety and challenge, and allows you to make a meaningful contribution during a key period of transition.
