Your new company is an international professional services company with an excellent in-house opportunity for an experienced commercial contracts professional in Leeds. You will play an important role in assisting the development of a business that excels in project management and programme management consultancy work. Our client has an exceptional portfolio of work, with projects including Crossrail, HS2, and The Shard, displaying the high-profile level of work that you will be dealing with on a daily basis. This role is not for a qualified lawyer.
Your new role involves advising on risks in contracts between clients and suppliers linked with the operational business. The successful candidate will offer contract advice to operational teams and liaise with clients on any contractual matters that may arise for the company and their UK-wide business interests. You will join their developing Yorkshire office, learning from senior paralegals with exceptional expertise while also nurturing junior staff development. You will work closely with other teams in the business to improve overall risk management and compliance awareness.
What you'll need to succeed: At a minimum, candidates will need to have legal qualifications (law degree or equivalent legal qualifications) and at least 2 years' previous experience of reviewing/re-drafting contracts. Experience with commercial contract work is looked upon favourably, although this is not a necessity. A successful candidate will exude pragmatism and maintain a positive attitude, being highly organised and independent, with excellent attention to detail. You will possess fantastic interpersonal and negotiation skills, able to influence and develop relationships with a variety of teams and individuals at all levels across the business.
