We are looking for dedicated learning support assistants to work with us in primary and secondary schools across Brighton and Hove.
Your new role
You will have the opportunity to work in EYFS - KS4; your role would be to assist the teacher and follow directions from the teacher to help re-engage students. You will have to distribute learning aids and help break down the lesson to ensure that all students are learning and focused on the task at hand. You may be working in both a 1:1 capacity as well as within the classroom. You will be expected to adapt and tailor lessons to students with different educational needs and backgrounds when there is the absence of a teacher. You will also need to help manage the behaviour of the pupils as well as run breakout sessions when needed. Furthermore, you will liaise with colleagues and peers to receive and deliver instructions and provide feedback.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have SEN experience, and you can back it up with examples and references. Passion for the role is vital and a desire to improve education and develop students' learning will make you the ideal candidate for this role. Experience of team teaching would be ideal and managing behaviour is essential. You are there to help drive these students' performance and support them in gaining the life skills needed to integrate into society.
