Job Description

Your new companyBirmingham City Council is one of the UK's largest local authorities, delivering vital housing services to communities across the city. The council is currently seeking a part-time Housing Officer to support its operations in the North of Birmingham and Newtown areas.

Your new roleAs a Part Time Housing Officer (12 hours per week), you will be responsible for managing a range of tenancy-related issues, including anti-social behaviour (ASB), property repairs and defects, and tenancy complaints. You will ensure that each tenancy is visited at least once every two years and that all actions are accurately recorded and updated on the system every two weeks.Your week will begin with a handover on Wednesday afternoon, followed by a mix of office-based admin work and on-site visits on Thursday and Friday. You'll be based in the Kingstanding office when not out in the field, and you'll have the flexibility to start your day between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you should have senior experience in housing or tenancy management, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism. A full UK driving license with business insurance is preferred, but public transport is also a viable option for conducting visits.
