This pivotal role combines pastoral leadership with academic support, ensuring students are fully engaged, supported, and able to achieve their potential.Key responsibilities include:Leading the pastoral care and academic progress of a year group.Supporting attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and wellbeing.Building strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies.Promoting community cohesion through enrichment, healthy living, and student leadership initiatives.Managing and developing a year team, ensuring high standards in registration, tutorials, and pastoral programmes.Overseeing interventions for students at risk of underachievement, absence, or behavioural concerns.*Celebrating student success and fostering a positive year group identity.What We're Looking ForProven experience in a pastoral or middle leadership role within a school setting.Strong ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, staff, and external agencies.Organisational skills to manage data, interventions, and year group activities effectively.A track record of improving attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and student outcomes.Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive practice.Flexibility to provide cover, supervision, and support across the school when required.A positive role model with resilience, empathy, and high expectations for young people.
