We are looking for a hardworking and reliable technician to join our Technical Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for physically installing equipment into racks, moving and handling hardware, fitting cabling, applying labels and preparing fully integrated solutions for shipment. The role involves regular lifting, use of mechanical handling equipment and working to tight customer deadlines. This position would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in delivering high-quality installations and is comfortable working with large and heavy equipment.

Location: Hatfield AL10 9TW

Contract Length: up to 28/10/2026

Rate: £17.45 /hour via Hays Approved Umbrella or £13.45/hour via PAYE

Contract Type: In-scope IR35

Hours: Monday to Friday (4:00 PM - 12:00 A.M)

Key Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack servers, storage systems and network equipment.
  • Install, route and secure power cabling.
  • Apply asset and customer-specific labels accurately.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and functionality testing.
  • Record installation and asset information as required.
  • Move, position and secure equipment safely using approved handling methods.
  • Build and prepare complete customer racks for shipment.
  • Load integrated racks into transport crates and flight cases.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Work to customer deadlines and operational targets.
  • Follow all health and safety and manual handling procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working in a hands-on technical, warehouse, assembly or installation environment.
  • Comfortable with regular heavy lifting and moving equipment.
  • Experience using hand tools and following build instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
