Your new role involves being a key member of the Customer Success function with the business. This hands-on role focuses on migrating customer data from third-party systems into the company platform, ensuring that the data loaded is accurate, validated, and ready to support a successful onboarding. Responsibilities include:
- Customer Data Migration: Perform customer data migration tasks, moving data from third-party systems into the platform. Collaborate with internal experts and stakeholders to understand, define, and document migration requirements. Populate and validate customer data templates, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Coordinate with teams to ensure data structures and processes meet both customer needs and platform requirements.
- Data Transformation Tooling: Build and run scripts to extract, clean, and prepare data from customer systems. Maintain and enhance migration tools and templates to support consistent, high-quality onboarding. Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation or improved tooling. Re-use existing data flows wherever possible and support the management of databases and key data sets.
- Data Quality Risk Management: Verify the accuracy of migrated data and minimise errors in live environments. Proactively flag risks or issues to prevent delays or disruptions for customers. Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation, following agreed processes and standards.
- Core Data Operations: Manage essential data sets and templates used in configuring customer environments. Support the maintenance of data workflows (ETL pipelines) that power core product features and services.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Qualifications Training: A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent hands-on experience. (Desirable) Certification or formal training in data engineering, data migration, ETL processes, or cloud platforms.
- Experience: Confident writing SQL queries and working directly with data. Able to write Python scripts independently. Understanding of JSON and how applications exchange data via APIs. Capable of turning requirements into practical, reliable data solutions. Experienced in designing, building, and running reports using appropriate tools.
- Bonus experience: Reading and interpreting Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). Extracting data from PDFs or other unstructured sources. Using APIs to share, sync, or integrate data between systems. Working with Git for version control. Using tools like Postman to explore and test APIs.
- Job-Specific Skills: Able to communicate technical detail clearly to non-technical colleagues. Practical experience with data pipelines or moving data between systems. High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and data quality.
- Desirable skills: Experience with automation or scripting to streamline migration processes. Awareness of data security best practices and handling sensitive customer data safely. Understanding how data quality impacts the overall customer experience.
- Personal Qualities: Strong communicator who works well with both technical and non-technical teams. Organised, good at managing time, and able to balance multiple tasks. Proactive in identifying issues early and resolving them. Comfortable asking the right questions to clarify requirements and keep projects moving.
