Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a growing & successful manufacturing group within an interesting sector to recruit a hands-on & experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper for their growing accounting team in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. The role reports directly to the Management Accountant and will play a key role in maintaining transactional finance processes, through supporting process improvement and month-end support. Offering remote/office hybrid working of 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, this is a great opportunity to join a close-knit finance team adding value to a successful business.
Your key duties will involve maintaining accurate financial records in line with company policies, managing all accounts payable & receivable processes, processing general ledger entries, along with supporting supplier payments both weekly and monthly. You will perform bank reconciliations, support the month-end close, along with liaising with customers/suppliers to resolve accounting queries. You will support the Management Accountant in ad-hoc duties & financial processes, along with process improvement initiatives as the organisation continues to grow.
To be considered for this hands-on Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper role, you will need experience in a similar position, strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. You will be a confident communicator to build internal/external relationships in a professional & approachable manner. You will be able to work independently but also be a team player with a proactive mindset. You will be adaptable to business needs, experienced in a range of financial systems with the use of MS Excel. You will be AAT qualified or qualified by experience & have knowledge of transactional finance processes. Experience within a small/medium-sized business, manufacturing/engineering sector, and experience with Xero financial system would be advantageous but not essential.
This permanent Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant role offers a salary up to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire.
