Your new company Hays are working with a well-established and values-led organisation within the education sector based in Nottingham looking for a temporary finance professional to join their team on a 6-month basis. This organisation is known for its collaborative environment and commitment to high standards, offering a supportive setting where finance professionals can develop their skills while making a meaningful impact.

Your new role As a temporary Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities will include processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting routine reporting activities. You will also be involved in assisting with payroll processes and supporting month-end duties, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date. Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, you will help ensure compliance with financial procedures, assist with audit preparation, and respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders. This is a varied role that also includes general administrative support across finance activities.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a finance role, including exposure to purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Experience in payroll and assisting with month-end processes
