Opportunity to join a Local Authority in Essex on a temporary contract to lead a portfolio of high-profile town centre and economic regeneration projects. Working within the Asset Management team, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward a programme of place-making and commercial regeneration initiatives, with a particular focus on leisure and retail developments. This role requires strong strategic oversight, commercial acumen and delivery expertise.
Your new role
As the Interim Regeneration and Development Director, you will provide strategic leadership for regeneration and development and will lead the delivery of key commercial regeneration schemes, including leisure and retail. Within the role you will oversee feasibility, business case development, procurement and delivery of major projects. As part of the role you will manage complex stakeholder relationships including Members, senior officers and developers and will ensure projects are commercially viable and aligned with wider economic growth objectives. This role is offered on an initial six month contract with a probable opportunity to extend. Hybrid working options are available.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role, you should have a strong track-record of delivering commercial regeneration projects, ideally including retail and leisure. You should have demonstrable experience of delivering complex development schemes from concept to completion. Strong political awareness and experience of working with elected Members is highly beneficial. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
