We are seeking an experienced and motivated EAL (English as an Additional Language) Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and diverse secondary school community in London. Key Responsibilities- Provide targeted in-class and small-group support for EAL students across a range of subjects
- Support newly arrived pupils with induction and language acquisition
- Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and strategies for EAL learners
- Track and support students' progress in English language development
- Promote inclusion, confidence, and positive engagement in learning
- Liaise with the EAL coordinator, pastoral staff, and families where appropriate
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with EAL learners in a secondary school setting
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of language acquisition strategies
- Be patient, adaptable, and culturally responsive
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
