A successful and growing SME with a turnover of approximately £10 million is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its friendly and supportive finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in finance, accounts administration or bookkeeping who is looking to broaden their skills and gain exposure across all areas of a busy finance function. You'll work closely with an experienced Accountant and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the wider business. Reporting to the Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function and maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 200. Purchase Ledger Processing supplier invoices and credit notes Assisting with weekly payment runs Sales Ledger Reconciling customer accounts Assisting with credit control activities Banking & Reconciliations Posting bank transactions Performing bank reconciliations General Finance Support Maintaining accurate financial records Assisting with journals and balance sheet reconciliations Providing administrative support to the finance team as required Previous experience in a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or administrative role Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Outlook Experience using Sage 200 or similar accounting software AAT qualification or currently studying AAT Experience with reconciliations and journals Understanding of bookkeeping principles Competitive salary of £27,000-£28,000 ~25 days annual leave plus bank holidays ~ Company pension scheme ~ Training and development opportunities ~ Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
