How to prepare for a job interview at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited

Know Your ElasticSearch Inside Out

Make sure you can talk confidently about your experience with ElasticSearch. Be prepared to discuss specific projects where you've used it as a core component, not just for logging. Brush up on indexing, query DSL, and any integrations you've worked on.

Show Off Your Security Clearance

Since this role requires Active Security Clearance (SC), be ready to explain how your clearance has been beneficial in past roles. Highlight any experiences where security protocols were crucial, and demonstrate your understanding of compliance in tech environments.

Familiarise Yourself with Nginx and Apache

You’ll want to showcase your hands-on experience with Nginx and Apache Tomcat/HTTP. Prepare examples of how you've supported legacy applications using these technologies, and be ready to discuss any challenges you faced and how you overcame them.

Get Comfortable with Containerisation and Scripting

Since knowledge of Docker and Linux shell scripting is important, brush up on these skills before the interview. Be prepared to discuss how you've used containerisation in your previous roles and any scripts you've written to automate tasks or improve processes.
