Hays is delighted to be supporting our client in recruiting a Recovery Coordinator to join their Opiate Service team on a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to make a meaningful impact, supporting individuals affected by opiate use through structured, recovery-focused interventions.

Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week)

Dates: ASAP 3 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 3 months)

Pay Rate: £18/hr PAYE or £21 umbrella

Your new role

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will deliver a range of evidence-based interventions to support service users throughout their treatment journey. You will work collaboratively with clinical and safeguarding teams to ensure each individual receives a safe, holistic and person-centred service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering targeted harm-reduction interventions through PODs and one-to-one sessions.
  • Creating comprehensive detoxification plans, including preparation and aftercare support.
  • Working in line with company's prescription policies and governance when facilitating access to OST.
  • Completing detailed assessments covering drug history, physical and mental health, social circumstances and risk.
  • Building recovery capital by liaising with external agencies, community partners and mutual aid networks.
  • Conducting holistic reviews with prescribers, safeguarding leads and wider team members.
  • Supporting engagement and reducing the number of individuals who disengage post-assessment.
  • Contributing to positive outcomes for service users completing treatment.

Essential Experience

  • Experience delivering interventions to individuals affected by opiate use.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and vulnerable adult procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with challenging behaviour.
  • Experience engaging with a diverse range of service users.
  • Knowledge of local services and mutual aid networks.
  • Qualification in substance misuse, counselling, social work or related field is desirable.
