Job Opportunity: Designated Safeguarding Lead

Location: Huddersfield

Hours: 35.5 hours per week, all year round

Salary: £28,507.28 - £33,497.32 per annum

About the Role

Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our team in Huddersfield. This is a vital role at the heart of our commitment to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of every student.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage safeguarding procedures across the school.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns.
  • Work closely with staff, students, families, and external agencies to promote a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with safeguarding legislation.
  • Deliver safeguarding training and guidance to staff.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a safeguarding or pastoral role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Relevant qualifications in safeguarding or child protection (Level 3 or above preferred).
