Hays are recruiting on behalf of a leading global organisation for an experienced Interim Accountant to join their finance team on a fixed-term temporary assignment.
Your new roleThis is an excellent opportunity for a QBE or part-qualified accountant to gain exposure to a complex and fast-paced finance environment, supporting month-end reporting, payroll accounting, lease accounting and statutory compliance activities.
- Manage lease accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support payroll accounting, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
- Prepare and complete monthly and quarterly corporate reporting requirements.
- Produce PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) returns and related compliance reporting.
- Analyse and report on financial variances, providing meaningful business insights.
- Lead month-end close activities for designated business units.
- Prepare and present balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
- Assist with annual tax reporting and compliance requirements.
- Support financial controls, governance and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
- Experience of month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience using ERP systems is advantageous, with exposure to Oracle, Power BI or Power Query beneficial but not essential
