Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Engineer with a strong mechanical and technical background to support the customisation and deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high-performance and data centre environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data centres.
Location: Hatfield Business Park, Hatfield Avenue - Hatfield
Daily Rate: A per hour rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90/hr (PAYE) OR £19.33/hr (via a Hays approved umbrella company)
Contract Duration: 3-month contract
Work Type: On-site
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Rack and stack of active network hardware, switches, routers, servers
- Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet
- Installing power and data connection cables within server networking racks
- Follow instructions and provide on-site support for remote networks and systems administrators
- Read and follow Rack Elevation Diagrams
- Apply basic IP Addressing under instructions/directions
- Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable)
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployment
