Seeking a Payroll Manager to join a global manufacturing organisation in South Oxfordshire. You will take responsibility for the accurate and compliant delivery of seven UK payrolls. Managing a team of four payroll professionals, you will provide leadership, development and technical expertise whilst driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the payroll function. Fully office-based Assist in the delivery of end-to-end monthly UK & EMEA payrolls for c.Process and review all payroll inputs, including salary adjustments, overtime, bonuses, deductions, pensions, auto-enrolment, and statutory payments. Review and validate payroll data through detailed reconciliations, variance analysis, and control account balancing. Produce payroll-related reports, journals, and support financial control processes. Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation, including HMRC regulations, RTI submissions, and annual processes such as P60s and P11Ds. Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, ensuring robust audit trails and data integrity across payroll systems (e.g. ADP, Sage, Workday, SAP). Contribute to payroll system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance to payroll team members. Deputy to the Payroll Manager, supporting the oversight and smooth running of payroll operations when required. Significant experience leading an in-house payroll function Previous people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a payroll team Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements Experience managing payroll controls, reconciliations and audit processes A proven track record of payroll process improvement and change management Strong systems experience, ideally including ERP, payroll and HR platforms Excellent Excel and data analysis skills Degree-level education and/or CIPP qualification, or equivalent payroll experience 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays ~ Performance-based bonus up to 15% ~ Pension scheme ~ Flexible start and finish times ~ Private medical care ~ Free on-site parking ~ Access to training programmes. ~ On-site company gym & social events. ~ The opportunity to lead a critical business function and shape future payroll improvements If you're an experienced Payroll Manager looking for your next challenge, we'd be keen to hear from you.
