Complex Injury Associate/Senior Associate (4+ PQE)

Job Description /n Your new company /n Hays Legal is pleased to be working with a highly regarded national law firm to recruit a Complex Injury Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing Leeds team. /n /n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join a well-established defendant insurance practice handling high-value and complex injury litigation. The role offers exposure to catastrophic injury matters, significant client contact, and genuine opportunities for progression within a supportive and collaborative team. /n /n Your new role /n You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on a range of complex defendant insurance claims whilst also managing your own caseload. The work will primarily involve Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims, often involving serious and life-changing injuries. /n This position would suit a solicitor seeking high-quality complex injury work, a strong team culture, and long-term career development. /n Key Responsibilities /n /n - Managing a caseload of complex defendant personal injury claims. /n - Handling Employers' Liability and Public Liability matters from inception through to resolution. /n - Assisting on high-value and catastrophic injury cases. /n - Advising insurers and commercial clients on liability, indemnity and litigation strategy. /n - Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other key legal documentation. /n - Conducting legal research and analysing case strategy. /n - Negotiating settlements and achieving favourable outcomes for clients. /n - Attending court hearings, conferences and mediations where required. /n - Building and maintaining strong client relationships. /n - Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow existing client relationships. /n - Ensuring compliance with court deadlines, regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. /n /n /n What you'll need to succeed Applications are welcomed from qualified solicitors or chartered legal executives with: /n /n - 4+ years' PQE gained within defendant insurance, personal injury or complex injury litigation. /n - Strong experience handling Employers' Liability and/or Public Liability claims. /n - Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and insurance litigation processes. /n - Experience working with insurers and commercial clients. /n - Excellent drafting, negotiation and case management skills. /n - Strong organisational abilities and a commercial approach to litigation. /n - The ability to manage a varied caseload while maintaining exceptional client service. /n - Advocacy experience or attendance at court hearings would be advantageous /n - Experience of catastrophic injury, complex liability disputes or high-value claims would be particularly beneficial. /n - Experience working with commercial clients is beneficial /n /n /n What you'll get in return /n /n /n - High-quality complex and catastrophic injury work. /n - Clear opportunities for career progression. /n - Hybrid and flexible working arrangements. /n - Supportive and collaborative team culture. /n - Ongoing training and professional development. /n - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. /n - Opportunity to work with leading insurer and commercial clients. /n /n /n What you need to do now /n If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV. /n /n
