Interim Legal Counsel - Technology (6 - Month FTC)

Office Location: London - Hybrid working Policy (2 days a week)

Reporting to - Group Technology Legal Counsel

About the Role

I am currently working with a sector leading, global organisation, who are seeking a commercially minded technology and procurement lawyer to join their in-house global legal team. This will be for a six-month period on a fixed-term basis. This role is designed to provide essential legal support during a period of significant technology change. You will be expected to work as part of the team on a range of technology and procurement matters, and the role is within a Group capacity for a FTSE business, which will allow you to gain significant exposure to very interesting matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Following standard playbooks and leading the negotiation and drafting of a wide range of technology contracts, including SaaS, software licensing, cloud services, NDAs, reseller and subcontractor agreements.
  • Supporting the management of supplier relationships through work orders, change requests, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Supporting in the drafting and maintaining internal legal documentation, including policies, procedures, playbooks, and standard templates.
  • Supporting the monitoring legal and regulatory developments in the technology sector and advising the business on potential impacts ('horizon scanning').
  • Working on supporting on a wide range of ad hoc legal matters.
  • Reporting to the Group Technology Counsel.

About You

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales between 1-3 years' PQE (guideline only, NQ's with significant in-house experience will also be considered).
  • Experience working in an in-house legal team is desirable, with strong tech exposure.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a wide range of different tasks.
  • Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic legal judgment, methodical with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
