Hybrid (3 days on site) Lincolnshire Multi-site environment
Some businesses collect data. Others are awash with it. This is one of the latter. Our client is a large, complex, multi-site organisation operating at serious scale. Across the business, they generate vast amounts of commercial and operational data, much of it held within their current ERP system (IFS). What they need now is someone who can turn that capability into real day-to-day insight; they are looking to bring in an experienced analyst on a two-year fixed-term contract to own and drive commercial analysis across the business.
At its core, this is a business analyst role with a strong commercial edge. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, sales, operations and the wider business, as well as engaging with teams at all levels. The focus is on understanding what information people actually need, what decisions they are trying to make, and where better visibility can improve outcomes. From there, you'll design, build and refine reporting that genuinely supports the business, rather than reporting for reporting's sake.
A significant amount of the data sits on the back end of IFS, so strong SQL capability is essential. Power BI is the primary reporting and visualisation tool, and experience working with ERP-driven data is key.
The business operates across multiple locations, and you'll typically be on site three days a week, with the remaining two days working from home. As such, this role is best suited to someone already based in or around Lincolnshire and comfortable travelling between sites as part of their working week.
What they're really looking for is someone who is commercially curious, confident working with senior people, and comfortable translating complex data into clear, practical insight. Someone who enjoys getting under the skin of how a business really works, and who takes satisfaction from seeing analysis influence real decisions.
This could suit someone currently working as a Business Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst or BI Analyst within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment, particularly where stakeholder engagement and commercial insight are central to the role.
The package reflects the responsibility and exposure. The role offers a salary of £60,000, alongside a company car, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping how a large organisation uses its data over the next two years.
If you're looking for a role where you can make an immediate impact, work closely with decision makers, and apply your analytical capability in a genuinely commercial setting, get in contact with Will Taylor at Hays to discuss.
