A well-established manufacturing and engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team on an interim basis to provide maternity cover. Operating within a large, collaborative finance function, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong operational footprint and contribute to a busy, fast-paced environment during a key period.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the financial reporting and compliance activities of the business on a 6-9 month day rate contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing month-end and year-end processes, including journals and supporting analysis.
- Supporting monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting VAT, Corporation Tax and other statutory compliance activities.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Supporting monthly forecasting processes.
- Completing internal audits and ensuring adherence to company policies and controls.
- Working closely with colleagues across the finance function to maintain high standards of financial reporting and governance.
This is an on-site position, requiring attendance five days per week to support the team and ensure a smooth handover and transition throughout the assignment.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar technical accounting position.
- Strong month-end, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience.
- Ability to work effectively within a large finance team and build strong working relationships.
- Previous experience supporting audit, tax and compliance activities.
- Available to commit to an on-site role for the duration of the contract.
- Able to hit the ground running and provide reliable maternity cover within a busy finance function.
