Job Description

Your new companyCoventy City Council are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children and Family Worker to join our West Area Team in Coventry. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families by providing intensive, tailored support.

Your new roleAs a key worker, you will manage a caseload, deliver individual and group interventions, and work collaboratively with families and professionals to create and implement effective support plans. You'll be based primarily at the Coundon Office, with flexibility to work in the community and from home as needed.Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with families to support positive change.
  • Assess needs and develop integrated family support plans.
  • Deliver direct interventions and group work programmes.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners including health, education, and social care.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports, including for court if required.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and service development.

What you'll need to succeed

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in childcare or relevant experience in the criminal justice system.
  • Experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly those who are hard to reach.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and family support approaches.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
