Thisis an opportunity to join a large and well-established social housing organisation with a strong focus on compliance, resident safety and community wellbeing. Working within a specialist ASB and Legal team, you will play a key role in helping the organisation meet its statutory obligations around gas and electrical safety while protecting residents and mitigating legal risk. This role is initially offered on a 3-month basis with the likelihood of extension and the potential to become permanent. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will manage a varied caseload of access injunction matters, supporting the Housing and Asset Management teams in securing access to residential properties where other avenues have been exhausted. You will act as a claimant advocate, representing the organisation in court proceedings and obtaining the necessary judicial remedies to ensure compliance with electrical and gas safety legislation. Managing litigation matters relating to access injunctions and statutory compliance. Managing complex litigated claims, including Part 8 proceedings and N16A injunction applications. Ensuring all litigation activities are undertaken in line with relevant legislation, statutory requirements and CPR protocols. Liaising with housing teams, external solicitors, barristers, courts and other stakeholders to progress matters effectively. Contributing to the organisation's risk management objectives by minimising financial, legal and reputational exposure. Supporting colleagues through training, advice and collaboration on legal and compliance matters. To be successful in this role, you will have previous litigation experience, ideally gained within social housing, local government or a similarly regulated environment. You will be confident handling your own caseload, advocating in court and working independently with minimal supervision. Experience acting on behalf of either claimants or defendants in litigation matters. Knowledge of access injunctions, possession proceedings, ASB litigation or related housing litigation. Strong legal drafting skills across court applications, witness statements and legal correspondence. A sound understanding of relevant housing, property and regulatory legislation. Excellent advocacy, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, legal representatives, the judiciary and external organisations. A degree, LPC, CILEX qualification or equivalent legal qualification. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Experience within the social housing sector and familiarity with gas and electrical safety compliance matters would be highly advantageous.
