Hays Education are working with a small friendly high school in St Helens who are looking to recruit a Premises Officer to work alongside the Site Manager. You will be joining a welcoming and hard-working team. Your new role In your new role, you will report to the Business Manager Site Manager and will be responsible for the security of the school, complying with health and safety regulations. This is a full-time role across the full 52-week year, with holidays to be taken during school holidays. This role will be a split shift position with the hours of 6am-10.15am and 2:45pm-6pm, so must be able to accommodate these hours.Your duties will include but not be limited to: Carry out cleaning duties in and outside of school where required Be responsible for the security of the school in the absence of the site manager. Ensure any equipment is kept clean any defects are reported Assist the Site Manager to ensure that playgrounds are kept clean and free of any hazards Carry out repairs to the school as instructed Respond, when necessary, in emergency situations during and after normal working hours. Liaising with external contractors in the absence of the Site Manager Other duties which may arise from time to time as directed by the School Business Manager What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful for this role, you must have previous experience in a similar role within schools. You'll have a good understanding of health and safety regulations and the knowledge of site security procedures.You must have good communication skills to liaise with staff and external contractors, but the ability to work independently.Ideally, you'll be local to the school due to the hours required, but also have flexibility to work outside normal hours if ever needed.
