Hays Education are delighted to be supporting an ambitious and inclusive secondary school in the recruitment of an Assistant Headteacher to join its senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking leader to play a key role in shaping the school's strategic direction - particularly across behaviour, attitudes, inclusion and SEND provision.
The Role
- Provide strategic leadership of behaviour and attitudes, driving a positive and inclusive culture across the school.
- Lead and develop pastoral systems, ensuring outstanding support for all pupils, including those with SEMH needs.
- Use data effectively to analyse trends and inform whole-school improvement strategies.
- Oversee behaviour systems, rewards, exclusions and alternative provision pathways.
- Work in partnership with SEND leaders to ensure that EHCP provision is effectively implemented in classroom practice.
- Lead, coach and develop staff, embedding consistent and high-quality approaches to behaviour and engagement.
The Candidate
- Proven experience in middle or senior leadership within a secondary or specialist setting.
- A strong track record of improving behaviour, inclusion and pupil outcomes.
- Excellent understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
- Ability to analyse data and translate insight into effective whole-school strategies.
- Confidence to inspire staff, challenge practice and drive continuous improvement.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
