A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire region. This is a key position within a high-profile programme, offering the opportunity to take ownership of defined work packages on a complex civils scheme.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Agent / Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of a section of works. You will manage day-to-day operations across multiple workfaces, ensuring activities are planned, coordinated and delivered in line with programme, technical standards and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing delivery of civils packages including:
- Fencing
- UTX crossings
- Ditch crossings
- Planning and coordinating works through short-term programmes, lookaheads and daily briefings
- Ensuring all works are delivered to design specifications and approved documentation
- Managing site teams, subcontractors, plant and logistics across your section
- Driving high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Overseeing quality assurance, inspections, testing and as-built records
- Managing temporary works, permits and site documentation
- Identifying and resolving technical issues, risks and construction constraints
- Supporting programme delivery through proactive problem-solving and collaboration
You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered right first time, with full compliance to project requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Sub Agent, or a minimum of 12 months operating as a Senior Engineer / Section Engineer
- Strong civils background with proven experience on infrastructure projects
- Experience in earthworks, drainage or related disciplines preferred
- Experience working on HS2 or similar large-scale schemes is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of site delivery, planning and construction sequencing
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple workfaces
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
