The Opportunity
Hays is working with a well-established facilities management provider to recruit an experienced HVAC Engineer for a site-based role maintaining a large commercial estate. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will join a small, professional HVAC team. While support is available, the role will largely involve lone working, so confidence, independence and strong technical capability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC systems
- Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdowns
- Fault-find, diagnose and repair HVAC plant and equipment
- Complete minor installation, refurbishment and upgrade works
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and KPIs
- Accurately complete all job documentation via PDA or paper job sheets
- Maintain strict Health & Safety standards, ensuring RAMS are in place
Essential Requirements
- City & Guilds qualification in Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
- F-Gas Category 1 qualification - MUST have
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and repair
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated approach
- Good communication skills and a professional manner
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working within commercial facilities management
- Hydrocarbon refrigerant qualification
- Additional First Aid or Health & Safety certifications
