Position Overview
Seeking a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing Building Services design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination of a variety of exciting and challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, domestic water, drainage, and specialist systems
- Produce detailed calculations using industry software such as Hevacomp, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD
- Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and tender documentation
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of building services
- Attend design team meetings, site visits, and inspections as required
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, standards, and best practice (e.g., CIBSE, Building Regulations, BREEAM)
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services design
- Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Hevacomp, or similar
- Sound knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice (CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS EN)
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE) desirable
- Full UK driving licence preferred
