Your new company
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing energy and infrastructure specialist delivering decarbonisation and renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland. Working with public and private sector clients, the business provides design, delivery and operational support for major low-carbon energy schemes and is continuing to expand its in-house design capability
Your new role
As Head of Design - Decarbonisation, you will lead a multidisciplinary Building Services design team delivering net zero and low-carbon solutions for commercial and public sector projects.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and technical strategy for decarbonisation projects.
  • Managing and developing a team of MEP engineers.
  • Overseeing the design of heat pumps, district energy schemes, building electrification, renewable technologies and energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Ensuring designs meet relevant UK and Irish regulations and standards.
  • Supporting bids, funding applications and client presentations
  • Working closely with operational and commercial teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
  • Acting as a senior technical representative for clients and industry stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed
Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.Strong Building Services / MEP design background.
Experience delivering decarbonisation, low-carbon or net zero projects.
Previous experience leading engineering teams.
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and energy performance standards.
Experience with energy modelling software such as IES, TAS, eQuest or similar would be advantageous.
Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Chartered status or working towards chartership would be beneficial
