You will be managing complex legal and regulatory risks across multiple jurisdictions. You will bring your experience as a regulatory lawyer to provide clear, business-focused legal advice to both operational and corporate teams, while working closely with legal professionals around the world. Your new role
- Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organisation.
- Advise on day-to-day matters including contracts, corporate governance, technology, privacy and data security, regulatory compliance and other commercial, regulatory and related issues which arise.
- Help manage the organisation's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in applicable jurisdictions and applicable network policies.
- Support Risk Management and Finance by providing legal support for their activities.
- Help manage the legal needs of our global delivery centre subsidiaries.
- Help develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures and playbooks.
- Review and advise on new services and solutions, including the companies governance process and specialised legal and regulatory issues.
- Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions and ensure work is done on a cost-effective and efficient basis.
- Balance the need to deliver practical and business-focused advice while managing the department's risk appetite and compliance obligations.
- Make presentations and write articles on important legal topics.
- Mentor and support junior members of the wider team.
- Develop collaborative relationships across the network of member firms.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experienced UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent if qualified outside the UK) with significant time spent at a major law firm.
- Private practice experience with regulatory and some exposure to data protection.
- 8-12 years post-qualified (guideline only).
- Expert-level legal skills with a demonstrated ability to lead complex legal and regulatory matters.
- An advanced risk management and strategic mindset with the ability to quickly spot issues and recommend mitigation options that enable the business to meet our objectives without taking on unacceptable risks.
- Able to work independently and manage complex files while also collaborating with business teams and other Office General Counsel team members.
- Balances the needs and demands of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risk management.
- Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment working with many different global stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
