Your new companyThis temporary Art Technician job is based at a secondary school in Sheffield. The school has a very dedicated workforce that focusses on the educational outcomes of all students and aims to create a learning community that is both supportive and safe in an environment of mutual respect.Your new roleThis school is currently looking for a temporary Art Technician to start in September. Your time in this role will include:
- Setting up materials, equipment and workspaces
- Clearing away materials and cleaning the art room following lessons
- Preparing displays for exhibitions, student artwork and maintaining the overall appearance of the art spaces
- Assist students with techniques, demonstrate art processes and provide support for art forms like drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture.
- Managing and maintaining the art supplies.
What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate would have:
- A degree-level qualification in a visual arts or ceramics-based subject (essential)
- Experience supporting art workshops/teaching in an academic environment (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and flexible approach
- Knowledge of various art techniques, materials and equipment.
This is a temporary role that has a strong chance of being permanent. An Enhanced DBS will be required for the role. If you don't have one, it can be processed. The school is looking for someone to start in September.
