Your new company Hays are working in partnership with a local authority in the West of Scotland who are looking to appoint an Architect to support the delivery of their new-build affordable housing programme on a contract basis for an initial 3-6 months. The Council work on a hybrid basis, allowing the option to work up to 2 days per week from home with the rest of your time spent in the office and on site. Your new role Working closely with the Senior Development Officer and Project Manager, you will support the development and delivery of new-build affordable housing schemes at various stages of the design cycle throughout the local authority area. – Coordinate and critique design proposals to ensure compliance with local authority design standards, Housing for Varying Needs guidance, building regulations and grant conditions.- Liaise with planners, finance, housing management, statutory services, developers, consultants and contractors- Assist with procurement of design and construction services- Monitor budgets, spend, and project progress– Support grant funding submissions and compliance with Affordable Housing Supply Programme requirements- Assist with practical completion, defect management and final handover to housing management teams What you’ll need to succeed – ARB or CIAT qualified with significant experience delivering projects within social and affordable housing in Scotland – Ability …
