Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?Hays Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants in Yeovil and the surrounding areas to work across a range of mainstream and specialist school settings.
We are looking for caring, patient and enthusiastic individuals who can provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs. Previous experience within a school or SEND environment is preferred, but formal Teaching Assistant qualifications are not essential.
We would also love to hear from people with transferable experience from backgrounds such as care, youth work, support work, coaching, mentoring, early years or other roles supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
The role could involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
- Supporting pupils within mainstream classrooms or specialist provisions
- Helping children engage with learning and classroom activities
- Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and independence
- Working closely with teachers and wider school support teams
- Building positive and consistent relationships with pupils
We're looking for people who:
- Have experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs
- Are patient, resilient and approachable?
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- They are passionate about helping pupils reach their potential
- Can adapt their approach to meet individual needs
