Are you passionate about helping young people with special educational needs develop the skills and confidence they need for adult life? We are recruiting a Post-16 Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist education setting in Wolverhampton. This rewarding role involves supporting young adults aged 16-19 with a range of complex learning needs, helping them access education, build independence and prepare for life beyond school.
The Role
As a Post-16 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students engage in learning both in the classroom and the wider community. You will encourage independence, support communication and social development, and help students work towards their individual outcomes.
You may support students with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
- Communication and interaction needs
- Social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Personal care and independence skills
- Employability and life skills programmes
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs
- Is patient, caring and resilient
- Can build positive relationships and act as a positive role model
- Has a genuine interest in supporting individuals with SEND
- Is flexible and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
