Behaviour Mentor - Special SchoolsWalsall and surrounding areas | Full-time & Part-time Opportunities | Immediate and Ongoing Start DatesAre you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people who need additional support to succeed?We are working with a number of specialist schools across Walsall that are seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour.This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who can build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.The RoleAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
- Support students both in and out of the classroom
- Help pupils regulate their emotions and manage behaviour positively
- Build trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to support individual learning and behaviour plans
- Encourage engagement, attendance, confidence and independence
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Ideal ExperienceWe welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in:
- Special education
- Teaching assistant or learning support roles
- Residential childcare
- Social care
- Youth work
- Mental health support

- Psychology or counselling studies
