Interim Vice Principal | HampshireHays Education is working in partnership with a school in Hampshire to appoint an experienced Interim Vice Principal.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished senior leader to provide immediate leadership capacity, stability and support to the school. We are looking for someone who can quickly establish credibility with staff and pupils and make an immediate impact within the senior leadership team.
The roleAs Interim Vice Principal, you will work closely with the Principal and wider leadership team, taking responsibility for key areas of school leadership and improvement.Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Providing visible and effective senior leadership across the school
- Supporting the Principal with the day-to-day leadership and management of the school
- Leading agreed areas of school improvement and strategic development
- Supporting and developing teaching and learning across the school
- Maintaining high expectations around behaviour, attendance and pupil outcomes
- Ensuring safeguarding and pupil welfare remain key priorities
- Supporting and challenging colleagues to maintain high standards
- Building positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents and wider stakeholders
About youTo be considered, you will need significant senior leadership experience, ideally gained as a Deputy Headteacher, Vice Principal, Headteacher or Principal.You will ideally have:
- Strong senior leadership and school improvement experience
- A track record of successfully leading teams and delivering improvement
- The ability to quickly assess priorities and provide effective leadership
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence and resilience to operate effectively in an interim capacity
- QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable, particularly for candidates available at short notice
Previous interim leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
