About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Contractor Escort to work within HMP Risley's Works Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional individual to join a busy maintenance environment, supporting the safe movement and supervision of contractors carrying out works across the prison estate.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring contractors can undertake their duties safely and securely while maintaining compliance with prison regulations and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort contractors to and from work locations throughout the establishment.
- Maintain constant supervision of contractors whilst on site.
- Conduct security checks and ensure all prison procedures are followed.
- Record contractor movements and complete relevant documentation.
- Report any security concerns or incidents promptly.
- Liaise with maintenance teams and prison staff to support planned works.
- Help ensure projects are completed safely, securely, and efficiently.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain vigilant and maintain security standards at all times.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
- Comfortable working within a secure custodial environment.
- Previous experience in security, facilities, construction, maintenance, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Must be able to pass the required security clearance checks.
What's on Offer?
- £15.43 per hour (PAYE Premium).
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- 39-hour working week.
- Initial 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension.
