Speech and Language Therapists - Band 6/7 - SEN School
Complex Needs | West London | Full-time | Long-term / Permanent
HAYS Education is recruiting an experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist SEN school in West London, supporting children and young people with a range of complex communication and additional needs.The role:
- Manage a caseload of pupils with complex speech, language and communication needs
- Complete specialist assessments and develop individualised therapy programmes
- Support pupils with communication, interaction, receptive and expressive language
- Deliver and advise on AAC and alternative communication strategies where appropriate
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists, teachers, SEN support staff, families and other professionals
- Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, reports and target setting
- Provide training and guidance to school staff to embed communication strategies throughout the school day
- Band 7 candidates may also provide clinical supervision and support to junior therapists and therapy assistants
We are looking for:
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN and complex needs
- Strong assessment, intervention and multidisciplinary working skills
- Experience within SEN schools, paediatrics or specialist education is highly desirable
- Confidence working with pupils who may be non-speaking or use AAC
