A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the fit-out phase of a major new-build hotel development in Wigan. This is a high-profile project requiring a strong construction professional with an extensive background delivering complex schemes for recognised Tier 1 businesses. Your new role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the internal fit-out works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing subcontractors and direct labour on site
- Coordinating all internal fit-out activities and trade interfaces
- Driving programme and monitoring progress against key milestones
- Ensuring health & safety compliance across all site operations
- Carrying out quality inspections and managing snagging processes
- Leading site meetings and liaising with project stakeholders
- Managing look-ahead programmes and short-term planning
- Supporting commissioning, testing and final handover
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 10 years' experience working for Tier 1 main contractors
- Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial, hotel, healthcare, education or similar fit-out projects
- Experience managing projects from first fix through to handover
- Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills
- SMSTS, First Aid and Black CSCS Card
- Excellent understanding of health & safety and quality processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive programme delivery
