Hays Education are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised School Receptionist to join a welcoming school on a temporary maternity cover basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or receptionist who enjoys working in a busy school environment and providing a positive first impression to pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
The Role
As the first point of contact for the school, you will play a key role in supporting the daily running of the reception area and administration functions.
Key responsibilities include:
Welcoming visitors and managing the front reception desk
Answering and directing telephone calls and emails
Maintaining accurate pupil and visitor records
Supporting attendance administration and general school office duties
Handling incoming and outgoing post
Assisting staff with administrative tasks as required
Ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
Previous administration or receptionist experience
School-based experience is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is essential
