This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Tamworth office with hybrid and flexible working.

Your new role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate, compliant and commercially viable tenders from inception through to contract award. Working closely with operational, commercial and project delivery teams, you will identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions that align with both client requirements and environmental considerations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed estimates, budgets and tender submissions for projects
  • Preparing accurate quantity take-offs and maintaining current market rates
  • Assessing project risks, cash flow forecasts and commercial viability
  • Developing innovative, sustainable and cost-effective bid solutions
  • Managing tender queries and supporting negotiations throughout the bid process
  • Undertaking site visits to identify risks, constraints and opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Considering health, safety, environmental and legislative requirements within bid submissions
  • Preparing comprehensive handover information for project delivery teams following contract award
  • Working with NEC and JCT forms of contract and understanding their commercial implications.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must bring:

  • Proven experience estimating within civil engineering, ideally gained within a main contractor or specialist civil engineering environment
  • Ability to produce high-quality written submissions and method statements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capabilities
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tender deadlines and changing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Full UK driving licence.
