Following recent investment and continued expansion, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth and is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of an Assistant Accountant.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management of the business and contributing to the smooth running of the finance function across multiple entities.
This is a varied, hands-on position offering exposure to management reporting, costing, financial analysis and month-end accounting activities.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
- Supporting and managing month-end close activities
- Preparing profit and loss reports, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow analysis
- Supporting inventory, costing and work-in-progress reporting
- Assisting with VAT returns and compliance requirements
- Supporting payroll processes and payroll-related reporting
- Completing reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Providing support across transactional finance activities where required
- Assisting with reporting across multiple entities within the group
- Supporting process improvements and finance projects as the business continues to grow
- What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar finance position
- Strong month-end and management accounts experience
- Good understanding of reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment would be advantageous
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- Qualified by Experience finance professionals
