A school in Sunderland is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong maintenance and site management skills who are looking to make a positive impact within an educational environment.
The role is initially a temporary assignment through to Christmas, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the school premises each day.
- Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and health and safety checks.
- Ensuring the school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained.
- Managing contractors and supporting site projects where required.
- Undertaking basic DIY tasks, including painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
- Responding promptly to maintenance issues and site-related requests.
- Supporting with room setups and school events.
- Monitoring and maintaining site security procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous caretaker, facilities, maintenance, or site management experience.
- School-based experience is desirable but not essential.
- Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
Essential Requirements
An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service is ESSENTIAL for this role.
