Hays are partnering with a well-established organisation providing supported housing services across Stoke-on-Trent. They are seeking an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join their team and support vulnerable adults to sustain their tenancies and live independently.
As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will manage a caseload of tenants living within supported accommodation. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality tenancy sustainment service, helping customers maintain their tenancies and access the support they need.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing tenancy sign-ups, move-ins and occupancy agreements
- Carrying out property inspections, risk assessments and tenancy reviews
- Supporting tenants to maximise their income and access welfare benefits
- Managing rent arrears and agreeing repayment plans
- Addressing housing management issues and anti-social behaviour
- Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
- Liaising with internal teams, local authorities and external agencies
- Supporting customers to access alternative housing options where required
- Promoting positive tenancy outcomes for vulnerable residents
To be successful in this role, you will have previous housing management or tenancy sustainment experience and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable adults and individuals with complex needs.
You will also have:
- Experience working within social housing, supported housing or a similar environment
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, income maximisation and rent arrears management
- Experience managing a caseload and maintaining detailed records
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A proactive and customer-focused approach
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- A DBS check or willingness to undergo one
