Role: Assistant Headteacher with KS2 Teaching Commitment
Hays Education is working in partnership with a primary school in Lancashire to recruit an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join the senior leadership team on an interim basis until February half-term.
This is a hands-on leadership position combining whole-school leadership responsibilities with a teaching commitment in Key Stage 2. The school is therefore looking for an experienced primary practitioner who can quickly establish themselves within the leadership team, provide visible and confident leadership, and maintain high-quality classroom practice.
The roleWorking closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team, you will:
- Play an active role in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school
- Undertake a KS2 teaching commitment
- Support the continued development of teaching and learning across the school
- Provide leadership and support to teaching staff
- Help maintain high expectations around pupil progress, behaviour and standards
- Contribute to school improvement priorities
- Provide additional leadership capacity throughout the interim period
About youTo be considered, you will need:
- Previous leadership experience within a primary school is essential
- Strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2
- QTS and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- The confidence to step into an interim leadership role and make an immediate impact
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A current DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable, particularly given the required start timeframe
