Your new role as a Broker Backup Technician involves providing vital support to a busy broker team, ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of London Market business and handling both front and back-end technical duties. You will report to the Broker Support Manager and be responsible for:
- Producing and processing open market MRC slips, endorsements, cover notes, policy schedules, debit notes, and monthly lineslip declarations.
- Assisting with binding authority arrangements.
- Reviewing and processing premium and risk bordereaux.
- Producing LPANs and submitting market work packages.
- Maintaining earned-to-incurred records and managing broker systems including Atlas and Lineage.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders on claims matters.
- Supporting Coverholder applications and audits.
- Calculating and monitoring profit commissions.
- Overseeing binder renewal activity and managing premium payment follow-up.
- Maintaining accurate records and responding to bureau queries.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working as a Broker Backup, Technical Technician, or Broker Support position within a Lloyd's broker. Ideally, you will have experience handling Binding Authorities and/or open-market risks, along with experience in MRC slip production. A strong understanding of London Market processes and documentation is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
Experience using systems such as Brokasure, A&S, Atlas, Lineage, DCOM, PPL, AIF, ECF, and IMR would be highly advantageous. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly within Excel, Word, and Outlook, are essential. You will need excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required.
Candidates who are studying towards, or have already achieved, ACII qualifications will be viewed favourably.
