Are you an experienced Site Manager or Site Assistant looking for your next opportunity in education? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming Primary School in Tower Hamlets seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on professional to join their facilities team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school premises experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the school site and ensuring site security.
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
- Managing contractors and overseeing works on site.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Monitoring and maintaining building systems and facilities.
- Supporting with cleaning, waste management, and site presentation.
- Setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
- Maintaining records relating to premises, maintenance, and compliance.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential).
- Previous experience working within a school environment.
- Strong understanding of COSHH regulations, Health & Safety, and site compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within educational settings.
- Experience carrying out general building maintenance and premises management duties.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience as a School Site Manager, Caretaker, Premises Officer, or Facilities Assistant.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance checks including fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos awareness, and building maintenance.
- Relevant facilities or health and safety qualifications.
