Interim School Caretaker Scunthorpe | Secondary School Full Time | Monday to Friday Interim Assignment | Immediate Start Available Your New CompanyHays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Scunthorpe that is seeking an experienced and reliable School Caretaker to join their site team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and positive learning environment for staff, pupils and visitors.
Your New RoleAs the School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security and presentation of the school site. Your duties will include: Opening and locking the school premises Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs Carrying out health and safety checks across the site Ensuring the school grounds remain clean, safe and well-maintained Managing site security and responding to alarms where required Supporting contractors and monitoring site works Assisting with room setups for school events, exams and meetings Reporting and escalating any building maintenance issues
What You'll Need to Succeed Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance or site management role Knowledge of basic building maintenance and health & safety procedures Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively Strong practical problem-solving skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one A proactive, flexible and professional approach Experience within a school or educational environment would be highly advantageous.
